Icecream With Apples In Hot Cherry Sauce

Ingredients for stewing the apples:
6 medium sized apples
11/2cup water
12tsp sugar
1tsp lemon juice

Ingredients for the cherry sauce:
1/2cup syrup of apples
11/2tsp cornflour
4-5 glace cherries cut into thin slices
a drop of dark pink colour
1tsp lemon juice

Ingredients for seving:
6 stewed apple pieces
1/2cup cherry sauce
1 litre vanilla icecream

Method for stewing apples:
*Place the sugar ,water and lemon juice in a wide sauce pan.
*Peel the apples then cut in half.Scoop out the seeds.
*Boil the sugar and water.Place the apples flat side down in syrup.
Boil the apples for about 10min. till the apples become soft.Chill the apples.

Method for the cherry sauce:
*Remove apples from syrup.
*To 1/2 cup of syrup add cornflour and mix well.
*Simmer syrup on fire till the sauce attains a coating consistency.
*remove from fire add enough colour to get a pale pink colour.
*Add glaced cherries and lemon juice.

Method for serving:
*Place slab of vanilla icecream in an individual plate or bowl.
*Arrange an apple oiece on it.
*Poue warm cherry sauce over it.Serve immediately.
